Redesign Legal

A civic initiative · Open to everyone

Law is built by people,
run by people, for people.

So why does it feel slow, costly and confusing for most of us? Redesign Legal exists to close that gap: we listen to the people who live inside the system, find the bottlenecks, and redesign how citizens meet the law.

The problem

The system has bottlenecks. Citizens pay for them.

The way citizens meet the law has not truly been redesigned in generations. Four problems show up again and again.

Delay

Simple matters sit in queues for years. Time is the hidden tax every citizen pays.

Cost

Justice gets priced out of reach. People settle or surrender not because they are wrong, but because they are tired.

Complexity

Forms, jargon and procedure were designed for insiders, not for the people they affect.

Access

Affordable legal help is a long way away for a large part of the country.

Our approach

We treat the legal system like a product that was never redesigned.

So we start the way a good design team would: with evidence from the people who actually use it.

01

Listen

Collect real stories from citizens, lawyers, students, officials, startups and corporates.

02

Understand

Map the patterns behind the delays, the costs and the confusion.

03

Redesign

Turn those patterns into concrete fixes for how people meet the law.

A note from the founder

Hi, I'm Mukul.

I started Redesign Legal because the way citizens meet the law has not kept up with the world around it. Whether you work inside the system or get caught up in it one day, the experience is often slower, costlier and more confusing than it needs to be.

This is not a startup pitch or a waitlist. It is a long-term civic effort, and I cannot do it alone. I need the real moments where the system failed, confused or exhausted you. That evidence decides what gets redesigned first.

Your experience is the blueprint. Let's rebuild it, top to bottom.

What is Redesign Legal?+

It is a civic initiative to redesign how citizens experience the legal system. We start with evidence: real stories from the people the system affects, then work toward fixes for the bottlenecks those stories reveal.

Is this a company, an NGO or a government body?+

Right now it is an independent civic initiative founded by Mukul. It is not a product pitch and not a waitlist. The work is open, and it belongs to everyone who contributes.

Who can share their story?+

Anyone. Citizens who faced a legal situation, lawyers, law students, judges and court staff, police and government officials, startups, corporates and NGOs. Every angle matters.

Your story is the first input.
